Principal's Message:
Welcome to Irving Elementary School's Website! It is the belief at Irving School that every student can and will learn to his or her fullest potential. It is also the belief that each and every student has the ability to become the most educated person possible and a positive asset to society.
We intend to fulfill our belief by providing students with the greatest opportunities to learn. The teachers at Irving School are dedicated and most knowledgeable in education. The faculty puts children first and finds creative and meaningful ways to educate their students. We have an outstanding staff of teachers whose expertise is remarkable. Please explore the teacher pages and grade level links to see what's going on in our classrooms.
The students at Irving work very hard on their daily academics. Students earn distinguished recognition from their teachers and school once a month for achieving "Knights Honor" awards in the areas of achievement, manners, effort, and most improved. Students have the opportunity for tutoring and enrichment in after school programs such as Gaps (Grades 2-6), Champs (Grades 3-6), Lego League (Grade 6), and Special Help for all grade levels on Tuesdays.
Irving School received a $5,000 Fishing Grant from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boating Commission. Students in grades 4, 5, and 6 will learn about the wonderful resources our lake provides and will apply their knowledge through several fishing trips to the peninsula.
Parent participation and support is a priority at Irving School. Irving School holds a parent coffee session each month to encourage parent discussions. Parents also volunteer with the Irving School PTO. Parent classes and meetings have become a regular occurrence through the WQLN Literacy Program, PATHS/Family Center Programs, Title 1 Parent Involvement meetings, and Champs.
Through the combination of excellent teaching, hard working students, and parent support, we are building a community of quality and educated citizens at Irving Elementary School.
