Jefferson Elementary is a neighborhood elementary
school located in Jefferson employs 26 dedicated and experienced classroom teachers, 6 special education teachers, full time art, music, and physical education teachers, and 4 Title I teachers who provide special help in Reading and Math. We also have a school nurse, a guidance counselor, an educational specialist and a speech teacher. Our focus is on caring and respect for ourselves and others, striving for academic success, and pursuing educational and personal development. Our vision is to create a positive learning environment to educate all students effectively. Each student is expected to achieve at a high level of academic performance, function effectively in the community, and contribute to the broader society. Our mission is : * For our students to perform at grade level and above in Reading and Math from Kindergarten to Grade 8. * To give our students concrete knowledge of America and the world in which we live. * Give our students knowledge, and a higher understanding of great literature and literary works. * Expose our students to the arts and science of the multicultural society in which we live. * Maintain an environment of excellence, responsibility, and diversity. * Create an environment that prepares students, faculty and staff members for the technological millennium.
