ASL: Eighth grade students are busy getting ready for the Academic Sports League challenge set for March 31, 2008. Students will spend countless hours researching topics related to ancient Greece and the Olympics. New coaches, Mrs. Loeffler, Mrs. Ferringer, and Mrs. Brasington, are optimistic that our eighth graders will rise to the challenge and lead Cleveland to a victory!
Computer Club: Students in our eighth grade participate in our computer club each month during Club Day. Club members research the latest technology online as well as create PowerPoint presentations for the student body. Thanks to Mrs. Hilliard for her assistance!
GAPS: Grover Cleveland is committed to providing additional academic support to any child in need. GAPS (Gaining Academic Proficiency for Students) is designed for students in grades 1-8 who would benefit from additional instruction in a small group setting. GAPS meets every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:30-3:50 pm. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Mrs. Andrea Loeffler.
Lego League: Our incredible Lego League is heading into their third season at Grover Cleveland. Students create and design their own robot and program it to complete a variety of missions. Our “Robo Reapers” will compete at the Lego League Invitational meets at Penn State Behrend Campus as well as Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. If you’re interested in learning more about our Lego League, please contact Mrs. Duchini or Mr. Owens.
Service Learning: Mrs. Bober, Mrs. Rocco, and a dedicated group of our eighth graders have been busy making our school and community a better place. Our Service Learning group completes many kind acts throughout the school year. They have recently completed a food drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank and are in the process of planning another effort to help the animals in shelters across the Erie area. Spring will find our Service Learners sponsoring a school wide cleanup effort at Grover Cleveland.
