Big Buddies:  Many of our eighth graders have partnered up with our youngest students in Kindergarten as part of our “Big Buddies” program.  Our “Big Buddies” meet with their “Little Buddies” on a regular basis to complete art projects, practice reading, or even just to visit!  Mrs. Rutkowski heads up our program along with the support of the kindergarten team of teachers.

Cooking Club:  Ms. Spence is the head chef for our middle school cooking club again this year!  Students spend time each month cooking delicious dishes and sharing them with the Grover Cleveland Family!  We’re all looking forward to their feast at the end of the year!

Cleveland CATS:  Sometimes our little cougars need a hand practicing math facts or reading stories.  That’s where our Cleveland CATS come in to play!  Our older students volunteer to work in our primary classrooms from 8:00-8:15 each morning assisting our youngest learners.  The CATS (Caring And Tutoring Students) have become a valuable asset to our students and teachers at Grover Cleveland.  If you’re interested in becoming a Cleveland CAT, please see Mrs. Brasington.

Safety Patrols:  Keeping our cougars safe at Grover Cleveland is a top priority for our student safety patrols!  Patrols are on guard both inside and outside of the building each morning and afternoon.  Some patrols assist teachers in our classrooms as well.  Our patrols (and Cleveland CATS) will be treated to an afternoon of fun at Waldameer Park in May of 2008.  Mrs. Loeffler and Mr. Lewis are in charge of our safety patrols this year.

Student Council:  Mrs. Krol is heading up our student council this school year.  Our elected officers hold meetings with homeroom representatives each month.  Student Council is responsible for heading up a wide variety of activities during the school year including “Teacher Appreciation Week” in May.
