In the dim light
the students could see all of the dragon books scattered on the floor.
"Hey!" the children shouted, "The dragon must be very smart because he
read all of these books."
The dragon said,
"Please don't hurt me. Let's be friends."
Andrew replied, "O.K.,
on one condition. We need a school mascot, and Mrs. Barker was thinking
of a dragon." "Will she hurt
me?" asked the dragon.
"Oh no," said Andrew,
"She's a very nice principal."
