Special Programs and Activities

 

 

 

 

·         Celebrations Around the World-Join the third grade as they learn about the celebrations of the winter holidays.

 

·         Violin Lessons-See the third grade practice their violins.

 

 

·         Read Across America-Enjoy the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday as local celebrities share their favorite books with the students.

 

·         First Lego League -is a robotic competition in which Jefferson will compete this Nov.  Every FLL challenge reflects an important real-world issue, helping 9 to 14 year-olds discover how imagination and creativity combined with science and technology can solve real-world problems.

 

·        Discover Erie- Third grade students participated in a Hands-on Learning Grant.  They learned all about the Erie area through a number of field trips and research projects.

 

 

 

·       Learn and Serve- Students work to give to the community. Some recipient of our students hard work is The Make A Wish Foundation and The Second Harvest Food Bank

 

 

·       VA Medical Center- Jefferson and the VA Medical Center have developed a partnership.  The hospital provides such activities as our yearly Halloween parade, a visit from the dentist, and other educational activities.  The Jefferson students create cards to boost the spirit of the patients.
