Its a pleasure to have you visit our exciting and informative web page! Please feel free to take a few minutes and browse through our different links. We are very proud of our school.

Pfeiffer-Burleigh is located in the heart of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. We have almost 700 students in our school and 77 employees who work with them. We are proud to say that Pfeiffer-Burleigh (or "P.B." as we call it) is the largest elementary school in the Erie School District.

At Pfeiffer-Burleigh our belief is that children need teachers, parents, and community members working together to provide a caring, nurturing learning environment. Our learning environment stresses the importance of respect, manners, academics.

The principal, teachers, and staff are excited and committed to giving your children the best possible education that money can buy. We hope to work together to show the children the way to a successful and prosperous life.

Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary is a school that is changing and growing to meet the needs of our diverse student population. We help our students and their families reach the goals they create for their children and their community. We work to ensure our students will meet the high expectations of the School District of the City of Erie and achieve the rigorous standards adopted by the State of Pennsylvania. We equip our students with the academic and social skills they will need to be successful, responsible citizens.

Our growth is a result of the efforts of our school community to build upon the successes of the past, work for achievement in the present, and prepare for the challenges of the future...

All members of our school community work together to collaborate and implement sound educational practices on a daily basis. We are using the ideas found in The Responsive Classroom model to build a nurturing school environment where children learn to practice fairness, kindness, and respect. Through working together, we are able to provide an appropriate education for all students, including those with special needs, in the Least Restrictive Environment. Students in Grades Kindergarten through eight are involved in our After School Programs which address a number of student strengths and needs that cannot be fully explored during the school day.
