2nd Race to Read
Erie General Electric Federal
Credit Union Race to Read Program Presented by Fox 66 at Lake
Erie Speedway captured the attention of Perry's 2nd graders. This
was the speedway's 5th annual program. The program required
students to read a minimum of 15 minutes each day for a four-week
period. To kick off the program the school had an appearance with
a race car driver and car. A presentation about driver safety and
the importance of reading words, from materials needed for your
car to the labels on safety equipment needed by the driver.
Before they left the driver gave out autographed pictures of his
car during a race.
