Our third grade participated in a 6 week Violin Program sponsored by The Greater Erie Youth Symphony Orchestra. Each student has a violin to play during class. They learned some of the basics to play this instrument. It has been a wonderful experience for all of us. Their teacher for this program was Ms. Maureen Ferrara, a staff member of the Orchestra. She and Mrs. Sandberg worked together to encourage the students to learn the correct position for playing the violin and also to play a song. We presented a program for the parents on Monday, February 4th. All enjoyed the program. Four of our third grade students signed up for the Allegro Strings Ensemble which meets at McDowell Int. High School every Saturday morning.
