Bravo...bravo...to Mr. Burch at Burch Farms!!
On April 16th, our Kindergarten classes ventured out of the city and into the sunny, sweet smelling countryside. We toured Burch farms to learn about apple tree growth, picking apples, washing and drying of apples and finally the packing of apples to be sold at our local markets.
Mr. Burch allowed our students to pick their own apple from the cleaning belt....boy oh boy, were they excited to sink their teeth into a crisp, juicy apple!
After viewing the scenic rows of apple trees and grape vines, Mr. Burch led our students into the warm, sugar scented bakery, where he treated us with fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies and the most delicious apple cider we've ever tasted!
Our trip to the apple farm was unforgettable and the fun filled facts we learned will stay forever in our minds.
