Music Show 2007

Miss Davis, our student teacher taught our 3rd and 4th graders about Ghana, Jamaica and Switzerland.  On Nov. 3rd we presented a program for our parents.   Here is Miss Davis helping the students dress in their daishikis, a traditional dress of Ghana. Miss Davis greeted the guests and introduced  three students from Mercyhurst College, who were from the countries studied. Each gave a short talk on their countries. Some students played tubanos, traditional African drums, while the classes sang and danced the songs. Perry 3rd and 4th graders playied traditional African instruments while singing a traditional African song. The students learned dances from Ghana and Jamaica.  They enjoyed showing the audience the dances while singing the songs. All students learned the Jamaican Ska.

Keep that beat going! Our Principal, Mr. Sabol and our music teacher, Mrs. Sandberg and the audience enjoyed joining the students in a dance at the end of the program. A great time was had by all.  The students learned many things about the countries they studied with Miss Davis.
