Welcome to Roosevelt

Welcome to Roosevelt Middle School where we’re celebrating our 90th year of educating the children of the city of Erie. Over the past nine decades, our school has been housed in three different buildings. We believe we have found a permanent home in the south wing of Central High School. Beginning in August of 2012, we will serve approximately 650 students in grades six, seven, and eight.

As our enrollment increases at Roosevelt, we will be enhancing classes offered during the school day as well as extra-curricular activities. Middle school students are encouraged to participate in team sports (basketball, soccer, volleyball, swimming) as well as social organizations and clubs. We are excited to revive our RMS band and chorus with the addition of two full time music teachers.

Our mission at Roosevelt Middle School is to graduate students who will become responsible and productive members of the greater community. We promise to provide them with a rigorous, dynamic, and comprehensive curriculum through our daily lessons and activities. Understanding that parent partnership is a key to our success, we will work hard to keep the lines of communication open between the school and home. Thanks to strong administrative leadership, excellent teachers and support staff, positive parent involvement and community support, our students will be able to reach high academic and social standards.

We welcome you to become a frequent visitor to our school’s website and contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to “like” us on facebook by clicking the link on the top right of our page. We’re looking forward to the next 90 years of excellence in public education!
