Computer
Literacy
Mr.
Lussier
Computers,
the internet, and new technologies have become very important parts of
our society. It is therefore to the advantage of the middle-school student
to learn as much about using this new technology as early as possible.
At Roosevelt, the Computer Literacy curriculum includes: basic keyboarding,
word-processing skills, creating spreadsheets, an introduction to computer-aided
design, producing computer-generated slide-show presentations, and the
implementation of the Internet for developing research skills, investigating
current news events, student-designed web pages, and research reports.
With these technology basics acquired, the Roosevelt Middle School student
will enter high school well prepared to further their academic goals.
General
Music
Mrs. Zandbergen
In
General Music class, we study the instruments of the orchestra, the
system of writing music (notation) and various musical terms. We also learn
about the periods of classical music and the composers from these periods.
In Chorus we learn the various techniques of singing
in a group. We also learn about discipline in a large group. Chorus is also an opportunity to develop teamwork.
