Strong Vincent High School is named after Brigadier General Strong Vincent who is best known for his courageous efforts in the Battle of Gettysburg where he suffered a fatal wound in his defense of Little Round Top. On October 24, 1930 the formal dedication of the school was held and the Vincent Family Crest became the school's Coat of Arms and family motto, Virtute non viribus Vincent (by courage, not by force of arms, we conquer).
Strong Vincent is a school of academics, preparing students who have been accepted in the top ten schools in the nation as well as other colleges, universities, and technical schools. Students are also prepared for the world of work through business and technology courses of study. The entire curriculum is based on students' needs be it academic, advanced, or fast track.

School
Strong Vincent High School was constructed in 1930. It presently serves 750 students in grades 9-12. The building underwent major renovations in 1978, adding several science laboratories and modernizing the interior. The physical facility covers approximately 3.5 acres and it is located on a plot of ground containing 1 1.5 acres. It is an Environmental Theme School in its first planning phase.
Faculty
One (1) principal, and three(3) assistant principals. There are two (2) guidance counselors, and there are over 50 faculty and staff.
Philosophy
The staff at Strong Vincent seeks to provide an environment, which fosters the development of academic skills and personal qualities necessary to participate in an ever-changing world. We strive to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will enable students to work to their fullest potentials whereby they accept responsibilities for citizenship in a global society. The achievement of these goals is a cooperative shared effort among students, teachers, parents, School Improvement Council members, partners, administrators, and the community.
Academics
All graduates are to attain a minimum of twenty-nine (29) credits. These are: one (1) Credit in Computer; two (2) Credits in Fine Arts; one (1) Credit in Home Economics; four (4) Credits in Language Arts; four (4) Credits in Mathematics; four (4) Credits in Science; four (4) Credits in Social Studies; two and one-half (2 1/2) Credits in Wellness/ Fitness, and six and one-half (6 1/2) Credits Electives.
