Text Box: Strong Vincent Junior ROTC

ABOUT US
Text Box: Junior R.O.T.C. is unlike any other class you’ll ever take. Its “the course you can’t fit in a text book.” Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays are just like other classes, with regular lessons and assignments. You’ll learn things about your brain functions, how you learn best, first aid techniques and other interesting topics. On Thursdays we have our Drill and Ceremonies day. One of the things you will be required to learn how to do is march properly. At the end of the first semester you’ll be tested on your stationary drill movements. You will almost have to master the 15-count manual of arms with a 1903 dummy drill rifle. Then for everybody’s favorite day, Fridays. Fridays is Physical Training. PT consists of push-ups, sit ups, a one mile run/walk, a shuttle run, and the v-sit reach.  J.R.O.T.C. The class that cares about your mind AND body.

By joining J.R.O.T.C. you are in no way committing yourself to the United States Army or any other branch of service.  If you do however, you have the opportunity to gain an extra stripe or two if you stay actively involved in the program for two or more years.
