Hello! Welcome to my page. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist that loves to learn and enjoys watching my students learn as well! In speech-language theapy sessions, individual students have their own set of skills and goals that they are working on to improve their communication skills. I like to use literacy as a springboard for developing vocabulary, grammar, auditory comprehension and sound development. You can find some practice tasks and ideas to improve your speech and language skills under the Classrooom Material tab and the Web Resources Page.
I'd like to share a little bit about myself. I am married, have two children of my own and have a dog named Scotty. I have been working in schools for more than two decades. I really like to learn. My favorite classes while I was growing up were Math and Science. I especially enjoyed participating in math flash card races when learning my math facts. As I grew older, I really discovered the love to read. One of my favorite pictures books is The Giving Tree written and illustrated by Shel Silverstein. One of my favorite novels is a book that was on my high school summer reading list, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, written by Betty Smith. I feel that books really open up your imagination and put the world at your fingertips!
When I am not at school, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I like to go for walks, watch movies, visit the beach and cook. One of my favorite meals is scallop scampi and ice cream is my go to dessert! I like to take vacations and have traveled as far as Hawaii. This summer, my family would like to visit Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Even while on vacation, there are plenty of opportunities to experience new adventures and learn excitng things! Thanks for visiting my page!
