• Reading is FUN!

My name is Ms. Russo and I have been at Jefferson the past 6 consecutive years.  I have been teaching in the Erie School District for 28 years.  I attended college at the University of Dayton in Ohio where I dual majored in Elementary Education and Reading.  I furthered my education at Gannon University where I earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration and my K-12 Principal Certification.  I have also taken classes in the Superintendency program at Gannon University.

I work with grades K-2 in the area of Language Arts.  I provide teacher support, as well as small group instruction, in order to meet the individual needs of the students. I administer the assessments the district provides, so as to monitor each student's individual reading progress. I also run detailed data reports for individual students. I am consistently encouraging parent and family engagement within our school culture. Our school wide improvement goal is to "ensure that there is a system within the school, that fully ensures school-wide use of data, that is focused on school improvement and the academic growth of all students."

My office hours starting April 20th, 2020 are Monday through Friday from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.

If you need any assistance or additional support I can be reached at  mrusso@eriesd.org.
