    3-1 to 4-19-20:

    Assignment-- Excel Notes- (15)

    Start date- 3-23-20

    Due date- 3-31-20

    Duration of assignment- approximately 3-4 hours

    Directions:  Take notes from your sources based on your "sub categories" list generated from your Rough Outline. These "sub categories" will fill-in the far left column of your Excel Notes template.  Many of you have already started this assignment.  Submit to Turnitin.Com upon completion!

     

    April 2 -- The last assignment on the 3rd quarter will be the Excel Notes. ( I have moved this to the 4th quarter.)   This was assigned the week before the shut down occurred.  Please be sure to have your 15 notes on the Excel Template completed ASAP.  You may need to revise it--- so again, submit it ASAP. Thanks.

    4-20-20, beginning of the 4th Quarter:

     

    4-20 to 4-24-20:  Excel Notes --moved to 4th quarter-- 15 notes (30 pts) Due by 4-23, to Turnitin.Com.  Please email me with any questions.

     

    4-27 to 5-1-20:  Assignment-- Insert notes into "Revised Outline with Evidence and Works Cited page"  Locate your "Rough Ouline" and insert your evidence

                              (quotes/paraphrases) in the appropriate paragraphs to support your thesis and argument. Be sure the reader can follow your thought

                               process and organize your ideas in a logical manner.

                               Due - 5-1-20, to Turnitin.Com.

    Success Criteria and resources for this assignment:

    A. Minimum of 2 pieces of evidence (quote/paraphrase) in each body paragraph 

    B. MLA citations on all quotes/paraphrases [1st choice--author's last name, if no author, use the first main word in title. Please do not use a web address as a citation.]

    C. Introduce quotes/paraphrases and add a minimum of 3 sentences of commentary after each quote/paraphrase.   See hand-out 

          "Introducing/Explaining Quotes"  in the LA11 Research & Document Folder.

    D. Works Cited page-- add to the end of your document.  It should be updated with your current sources on a page alone----the title should be

          about  1" down from the top of page.  Be sure all entries are alphabetical by author last name or the first main word of the title, if no author.

    E. Resource-- Rough Outline Template--- located in the LA11 Research & Document Folder

    May 4 - 8: "Rough Draft with Works Cited page" -  This week you will continue to improve your paper by moving from the Outline step to the Rough Draft

                                            step.  Please be sure to read my resource, "Moving from Outline to Rough Draft" located in the LA11H Document Folder.  This week

                                            I will be looking for proper use of quotes in your text:  Introduce your quote, use your quote, explain your quote with a minimum of 3
