• I am Beth Hawkins. I graduated from Thiel College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Elementary Education.  I earned my Masters in Elementary Guidance Counseling from Edinboro University in 1996. I have been in the education field for 32 years, teaching for ten and counseling for twenty-two. This is currently my 12th year at Harding.  I am married and have 6 children, a granddaughter, a dog and a cat.

I love teaching and working with our Harding dragons.  My goal is always to help them feel safe and important.  When my schedule allows, I work in homerooms with students on social and emotional topics which your kids may come home and talk about , counseling in the classroom.  Some of the other bases as  I cover with our students is Internet Safety awareness and Smart futures in grades 3-5.  In the last quarter of the year, I am the School Assessment Coordinator for PSSA for grades 3-5.   I also serve on Harding's Student Assistance Program, helping to develop and monitor interventions for students to be successful academically, behaviorally and emotionally.

Your students might also know me as any of the following during my day at Harding:

hallway duty monitor in the Kindergarten area , attending morning meetings, covering for teachers when they attend PLCs, being a lunch duty monitor for 4th grade or signing students onto buses at the end of every school day.   I also serve on our Harding attendance team working with the Kindergarten families.  I will be the one reaching out when the school has concerns about their attendance and checking in with your student because we want and need them in school.

If it sounds like a lot...it is.  Please feel free to reach out and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
