Pixar in a Box is a behind-the-scenes look at how Pixar artists do their jobs. You will be able to animate bouncing balls, build a swarm of robots, and make virtual fireworks explode. The subjects you learn in school — math, science, computer science, and humanities — are used every day to create amazing movies at Pixar. This collaboration between Pixar Animation Studios and Khan Academy is sponsored by Disney.
Use the links in order below to get the behind-the-scenes interactive artist experience. Each link below will take you to a series of videos and activities. Complete each in the order intended, start at the top and work your way down.
Throughout the unit keep a journal to complete the activities in each section. Your journal should be structured as follows:
-
One activity per page
-
Put a label on the top of each page
-
Label the top of the page with the title of the section and the activity number.
-
The art of Storytelling has 6 sections. The first section, We are all Storytellers, has 4 activities. Label the top of the page of the first activity:The Art of Storytelling: We are all Storytellers Activity 1

Do what you can. I know you may be limited on supplies. If an activity requires paint, try using crayons or colored pencils. You can at least express your thoughts on the activity through drawing or writing.
-
Submit your Journal by emailing pictures of your activities or by submitting a hard copy once we return to school. You will be rewarded for your efforts.
