    Erie's Public Schools & Mercyhurst University's Free Summer Coding Bootcamp

     

    Join Erie's Public Schools and Mercyhurst University for free gaming and coding camps this summer! These workshops will include building, coding and gaming in state-of-the-art computer labs at Mercyhurst University's MCPc Cyber Education Center. Each day will include lab and hands-on activities, with lunch and transportation provided.*

     

    Applications are due by Friday, May 31 and may be submitted via email, mail or in person.

    Courses Available:

     

    Design Your Own Game (for students entering Grades 5-6)

    20 student maximum per session

    Discover the basics of coding through a variety of applications and activities. Make your own apps and robots, all while impressing your friends and getting your game on! Find out how fun coding can be. 

    Session One: Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Session Two: Monday, August 12 through Friday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

     

     

    Coding & Video Game Design (for students entering Grades 7-9)

    25 student maximum

    Develop coding and programming skills to create your own games and animations. Discover how every action requires a command and script and learn to identify how these concepts are used in everyday life.

    Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday through Friday)

     

     

    Unity Ultimate 3D Game Programming (for students entering Grades 10-12)

    30 student maximum

    "Unity" is the ultimate game development plaform and is used to create half of the world's games. The real-time platform offers incredible possibililties for game developers and creators across industries and applications. As an added bonus, students who successfuly complete this course will receive 0.5 elective credit.
