You will also find a link there to our new Facebook page.

I have some classrom codes for you. There isn't any work posted yet, and what I do post may change between now and the 20th. I'm having fun playing with the options available.

If you haven't done so yet, you can see what to expect in my last post below. It's going to be hard to do things the old way. I see a lot of performance groups playing together online, but I think we're gonna need a lot more bandwith for that!

As I'm getting google classroom set up, I wanted to give you an idea of what to expect.
Once I get the classes set up I'll post the codes for joining up here.

If you have general music, the work will look exactly like what I posted for homework, only I'll have discussion questions to answer and turn in. I would say one playlist of videos every two weeks. Don't worry it will be painless!

If you have band, you can either:
1)Take the online lessons posted on your instrument and post your progress to me via video
    or
2)If you don't have an instrument at home you may do the videos I'm posting under band. These videos will be more about great performances, practicing, etc.

You will need to let me know if you are choosing to do online lessons, otherwise I'll assume you'll be doing videos and discussions.
MORE INFO TO COME!!!! I HOPE YOU ARE ALL DOING WELL!!!!
As always, feel free to email me at jnolan@eriesd.org.

     NEW THIS WEEK 03/30/2020

Hello again! Not to get too sappy, but I'm missing making music with the band and discussing music with the general music classes. I feel like this year we've had some good discussions, some great guest artists and some hilarous moments.

I've uploaded a playlist of videos. There are more details on the "homework" page. Click "homework," then "discussion videos." Some you may have seen in class before when the moment arrived. This is a mish-mash of music subjects to start with. Feel free to ask questions and I'll post questions and answers next week. In the coming weeks I'll have some playlists specifically for band, some for general music. Band students should view the general music videos also, eventually there will be some music history that you're going to want to know before high school and college.

If you are new to my page, below is what I have posted before. Make sure you check these out!

    BAND:

Under "homework" there are some things to do. Scales are the best thing you can do even if you are practicing for only a small amount of time. I'll keep adding material.

    GENERAL MUSIC AND BAND:

Again, under "homework" there are some great lessons. If you have access to a keyboard (even a toy one) you can take these easy fun online lessons. If you didn't get to grab your instrument, try the songwriting lessons. They start REALLY basic, but eventually they get into some high school level playing.

Look up some of your favorite muscians. Many are doing live streaming shows from thier homes and practice spaces. Ask your parents what they listened to when they were your age, you may get turned on to some great stuff you can sample for your own tracks!

    Keep checking Wilson's page!
