Summer Reading Assignments 2018
Below you will find the Collegiate Academy's summer reading assignments.

- Language Arts Supply List. This list explains all of the required supplies for grades 9–12. To best prepare yourself for a successful school year, please have these supplies with you on the first day of school.

Optional: Students can earn up to 5 bonus points by reading Miracle at Philadephia
, by Catherine Drinker Bowen, over the summer. Three points are awarded for a 1‐2 page reflection of three important things you learned from the book. Two additional points can be earned by making a short (roughly two minutes) presentation in front of the class on what you learned. Additional points are available each quarter. AP World History
Optional: Students can earn up to 5 bonus points per quarter by reading Desinty Disrupted: A History of the Wolrd through Islamic Eyes, by Tamim Ansary. Three points are awarded for a 1–2 page reflection of three important things you learned. Two additional points can be earned by making a short (roughly two minutes) presentation in front of the class on what you learned. Other books are available for extra credit. See Mr. Shaut or Mr. Lasher for details. We will follow this reading schedule: 1st Quarter: Chapters 1-7; 2nd Quarter: Chapters 8-11; 3rd Quarter: Chapters 12-15; 4th Quarter: Chapters 16-17.
