    Reopening Remotely: Let's Get Started

Welcome back to another new school year, EPS family! We're so excited that we're together again, even if it's not in person. This school year is going to look a little different, and we know remote learning is going to present some challenges for our students and families. We're here to help you every step of the way.

School begins remotely for all students on Tuesday, Sept. 8. All students are expected to log on to Schoology by the start of every school day. Are you ready?

STEP ONE: Parents, please read this important letter from our teachers to better understand what remote instruction will look like. You can view sample school day schedules here

STEP TWO: Watch the videos below to make sure you're ready on Day One. Before you do, make sure you have the following information handy:

    • Your user name. This is your six-digit student ID number (same as your lunch number).
    • Your password. Student passwords are assigned to students by their school and is the same password students used in the spring.

You'll need your user name and password to log into your Chromebook and to Schoology, which will serve as your online classroom. (Parents: If your child has forgotten their Student ID number or password or if your child is new to the district, please contact your school directly. Contact information for all schools can be found at eriesd.org/schools.)

School Closure- Parent Letter- March 17, 2020

    March 17, 2020

I am writing to touch base with regard to these unforeseen events. In order for your child to maintain progress towards IEP goals, it is crucial he/she continue to work on educational material from home each day. If your student has access to the internet, he/she can continue to use the following curriculum websites to enhance learning:

    www.ixl.com (diagnostic or learning pathway)

Students have been utilizing these programs throughout the school year so they already have a student log-in and password. If for some reason a student does not remember this information, you can email me directly and I can provide it for you.

If you prefer to have paper/pencil work you can contact me through email and I can make those accommodations. At this very unique time, I also urge you to have your student read, write, and work with mathematics facts as often as possible. Additional resources are provided online under each teacher's webpage. To access these resources:

    1. Go to eriesd.org and select "Woodrow Wilson Middle School" from the "Our Schools" menu.

    2. Click on the link labeled "Teachers."

    3. Locate desired staff member and click corresponding name.

    4. On the left hand side, a menu provides various learning opportunity options to explore, including class resources, homework, and web resources.

    * Please check the "homework" and "web resources" pages for my webpage.

If your child has an annual IEP due in the month of March, April, May or June, I will be in contact by phone to conduct the IEP meeting. Please be sure the office has an updated phone number on file. If you need to update any contact information you can call the office at 814-874-6050.

    Stay positive and healthy!
