Hello students and families,
First and foremost, allow me to send out positive thoughts to everyone at this time. I hope you and your families are staying safe. We have all heard the safety guidelines to follow during this health crisis. Beyond sneezing in your sleeve, disinfecting surfaces, and social distancing from others there are things you can do to fight the infection. Physical activity is not only important to staying strong but also will help with mental stamina as well. Please remember the importance of staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest during this time. Having proper vitamins and minerals are also imperative in staying healthy. This is not the time to skip on fruits and vegetables. Following proper physical activity guidelines, nutrition, hydration, and getting plenty of rest are the foundation of strengthening our immune system which is responsible for fighting numerous illness and diseases.
Due to the health crisis the expectations for my students will change. They are voluntary and include the following:
- Accessing focused fitness and updating an activity log (instructions can be found on my Focused Fitness tab).
- Utilizing a calendar of activities that focus on the components of health (look for it on my Weekly Calendar tab).
- Completing some fun worksheets concerning health topic (accessible through my Worksheet tab).
Finally, please remember this is a stressful time for everyone. Please practice generosity, kindness and patience to everyone we encounter. Check-in (within the social-distancing guidelines) with not only your loved ones but people who are sometimes forgotten about. Treat others as you would want to be treated couldn't be more true than in this time of crisis.
