What are your First Amendment rights, and why are they important to us? How does the media impact your life and people’s perceptions of the world and others in it? Students explore these questions on a daily basis through class discussions, group and individual projects, and writing assignments. The newspaper is only the beginning as students read, watch, and evaluate various modes of the media and become acquainted with journalistic techniques including interviewing, and composition of various types of articles. This class is a foundation for News Magazine, Yearbook, and KING-TV.
