🎉 6th Grade Boot Camp 2026 – Welcome, Future Colonels! 🍿📚
From July 14–16, Strong Vincent Middle School proudly welcomed 18 of our newest Colonels for our annual 6th Grade Boot Camp! Over three exciting days, students explored their new school, built friendships, and gained the confidence they need for a successful start to middle school.
Our future Colonels tackled a building-wide scavenger hunt, mastered the locker combination challenge, and participated in a variety of team-building activities that encouraged collaboration, communication, and lots of laughter.
To wrap up the fun, students kicked back with a cool movie, fresh popcorn, and snacks, giving everyone a chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy time with their new classmates.
The excitement continued with amazing prize giveaways! Lucky students won 32-inch Smart TVs, Bluetooth portable speakers, Bluetooth earbuds, and LED light sets.
As a thank-you for participating, every student received a clear bookbag, Strong Vincent T-shirt, and school supplies to help them start the school year prepared and excited.
As a special surprise, each student also received a Sealy Posturepedic Pillow Set—because every future Colonel deserves a great night's sleep before their very first day of 6th grade!
A heartfelt thank-you goes to community member John Beuchert, a retired law enforcement officer, who generously volunteered all three days of Boot Camp, along with four amazing youth volunteers who helped welcome, encourage, and support our newest Colonels every step of the way. Their enthusiasm and dedication helped make the experience even more memorable for our students.
Reflecting on his experience, John shared:
"It was beneficial for me to experience our youth when it's not the worst day of their life—smiles instead of tears."
His heartfelt words are a powerful reminder of the importance of creating positive connections between our students and the community members who care deeply about their success.

If you'd like to get a jump on the beginning of the year, stop in to school tomorrow (Thursday) between 10-1 to secure your child's Yondr cell phone pouch.
Remember, all electronics will need to be secured prior to entering the building.
We'll have staff in the main lobby to assist you.
We'll also distribute them at Open House on Wednesday, August 19th between 6-8 pm.
Can't make either event? No worries! We'll have them ready on the first day of school.

Free sports physicals will be on Wednesday, May 10th at Strong Vincent for all students interested in playing sports next year. Packets were passed out to students at school today. Strong Vincent will welcome fifth graders from our feeder schools next week. Harding will come on Monday, Grover Cleveland will be here Tuesday, and Perry will be her Thursday.

Today, six of our own travelled to Sheffield, PA to perform alongside roughly 140 students in the PMEA Jr. District Band Festival. These students have worked incredibly hard and are developing into talented young musicians! We are bursting with pride! Special thanks to the (always amazing) Mr. Caram for making this experience possible. We ❤️ our Colonels!
