Diehl held its Family Game Night this week where families enjoyed playing a variety of games provided by our School Wide Support/Title 1 team. Snacks, drinks, and raffle prizes were provided by United Way Community Schools.
A special thanks to our volunteers: Diehl 5th Grade Leaders & Helpers, Mercyhurst University, and Diehl Faculty/Staff.
Upcoming: Diehl Movie Night, Monday, March 9

On Sunday, our Diehl Intramural Soccer team competed in The Royals Soccer Tournament that featured other elementary schools within the district. The students competed hard and finished in 4th place. They played so well as a team and had a lot of fun. Thanks to Mr. Smith, Diehl Physical Education teacher, for coaching the team and being a constant support.

The efforts and contributions of many African American educators and community leaders have helped Erie's Public Schools to become the district it is today. Thank you to all of the amazing individuals who help us continue #buildingexcellencetogether! We are especially grateful for our superintendent, Dr. Natalyn Gibbs, who is dedicated to bringing the community together and supporting our students and their families.
This month our students are learning about the important African American figures throughout history. You can stay up to date on what they are doing each week to celebrate Black History Month by visiting our website: https://www.eriesd.org/blackhistory.

Diehl Families:
We'll be hosting Family Game Night on Monday, February 9 from 4-5:30pm. Board games, card games, puzzles, and more. Snacks and drink provided. The flyer should have come home with your child, but if you want to RSVP you can send me and email at chrisfox@eriesd.org or reply to this post on ParentSquare.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Diehl Spelling Bee Club held it's first in-school Spelling Bee competition. Eight Diehl students competed with the top two spellers qualifying for the District Spelling Bee this Thursday at Harding Elementary.
The spellers met weekly to practice and did an amazing job at the competition. Ivan Ngo (4th Grade) was top speller, Christian Hall (5th Grade) was 2nd Place.
A special thanks to parent volunteer, Thuy Le, for coaching and helping the students prepare. Also thanks to Mercyhurst University staff volunteers for judging, and to the families that attended and supported all the students competing.

A great event showcasing our students artistic talents. Great job to Diehl Music teacher, Mrs. Anderson and Art teacher, Ms Keeler. It was great seeing so many family and friends in attendance.
