As we honor mental health awareness month, we will be sharing mental health tips for parents to help encourage positive behaviors and skills in their children.

Share your own feelings and healthy expression of emotions - talking openly about feelings helps set an example.

Ask open ended questions to start conversation: "What was the best part of your day?" "What was a challenging part of your day?" instead of "How was your day?"

Encourage and model self-care - taking care of yourself and setting boundaries is important!

Mental Health Tips for Parents
To celebrate mental health month at Edison this year we’ve been doing small things to boost staff mental health. Today staff could wear something representing what they are proud of, what inspires them, or what makes them happy!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

At Edison, we believe mental health matters!

During the month of May, you will see Edison adults wearing green on Fridays to show our support for those facing mental health challenges. By raising awareness about mental health, we strive to do our part to start the conversation and end the stigma around seeking mental health help.

If you or someone you know is interested in or in need of mental health support, help is available 24/7 in an emergency by calling/texting 988 or contacting Crisis Services at 814-456-2014.

If you have any concerns about your specific student, please reach out to our Mental Health Specialist, Ms. Devon, at 814-874-6484.

Edison is so grateful to partner with Wabtec as part of our community connection! Thank you for supporting our kiddos and helping build meaningful connections. The kids had an amazing year learning and growing together. Last Friday was our final session of Connect A Classroom for the 2025–2026 school year, and what a great day it was in our new space! Thank you, Wabtec, for your continued support.
