Pre-K completed their our month long marathon of We LOVE Reading by inviting the Early Childhood Education class from Erie High to join them as guest readers.
We had so many Royals participating, that our Pre-K extended the invitation to our Kindergarten and First grade classrooms as well.
Check out all the smiles and learning that took place here at McKinley!

It's Title 1 Family Survey time at McKinley and we need your help!
The survey responses help us plan for next school year and your feedback is SO important in that planning! We only need one survey completed per family and should only take about 10 minutes of your time.
Did we mention you could also have your chance to win a $100 gas card?!?! Just be sure to include your name on the survey to be entered.
Students and teachers also have a chance to earn 100 PBIS points for the school store! Check out more details below!
The link to the survey is: https://online2.snapsurveys.com/McKFamily
Please note this link is for McKinley Families ONLY. Each school will share their own link!
P.S. We are working on the survey being translated to several languages and will let you know when that's available.

Thanks for spending some time reading our favorite stories with us.... and signing some autographs 😁

Last week, we celebrated 100 days of school and 100 days of loving being your teacher! Our celebrations included a few special guests - Old Lady O'Leary, Granny A'Moura, Popo Rob, and Grandpa Za'Kai.

From dads, to papas, to uncles, to brothers, and to cousins, we had a great time celebrating the incredible men in our school community! Students and their special dude made photo frames complete with a printed family picture from the event, enjoyed donuts together (obviously 😉), and overall just enjoyed the quality time together with all of our Mariners!
Special thanks to McKinley teachers and staff for volunteering their time to help! Events like these are made possible through our community school funding from United Way of Erie County!
To all the dudes, thank you for not only coming to the event, but for continuing to support our school & community!

Kindergarten read "What a Wonderful World" with their listening buddies and used used scarves to create rainbows with the song .
And our 1st Graders listened to the song, read the book, and had a class discussion about the things and people that make our world wonderful.

It was amazing to see our halls filled with bright colors and even brighter smiles. Together, we are making McKinley a place where kindness matters every single day!

This week, our students were exploring bridges and tunnels like civil engineer, Archie Alexander and became chemists like Percy Julian by experimenting with baking soda and vinegar.
We love watching their little minds at work!

Through the Educational Passport Program, every grade level is connected to a partnering organization that will include a combination of hands on, in school activities and field trips! This is just the first visit of many for our Mariners.
Partnerships like this are made possible through the community school model! Keep your eyes out for more fun learning opportunities to come the rest of the school year!

Our Captains and Champions are our student leaders in 4th & 5th Grades! They work really hard each day to set a good example of what it means to be a Mariner and a leader at our school.
A huge thank-you to Amy Grande, Community School Director, and United Way for providing this amazing opportunity for our students through the community school model!
