Please come help our Robotics team in their fundraiser at Chick-fil-A on March 12th.

Senior Markella Nacopoulos has been named one of more than 5000 candidates nationwide in the 2026 United States Presidential Scholars Program, selected from nearly 3.6 million students. Inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Application is by invitation only based on superior academic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities. As 1 of only 170 candidates in the State of Pennsylvania comprising over 500 school districts and the sole individual from Erie’s Public School District and from all of the surrounding districts in Erie County, PA, Collegiate Academy is honored to have our own student, Markella, named in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The nation’s prestigious distinction represents a selectivity of less than 0.18% of all seniors nationwide. We are very proud of Markella and wish her the best of luck in what we expect to be an exceptionally bright future!

Great work, Theofania Nacopoulos!

This year, Ayat Majid- Collegiate junior- has the chance to be Erie's very own "Teen of Impact" for the American Heart Association. She, with the help of HOSA, has created a non-profit called Future4Females- to focus on women's health access and education. See the flyer attached for more information about the nonprofit as well as how to donate. Asheen Udgiri won this competition last year and has taken our school and district to the state level. Let's have another Collegiate Academy (Erie's Public Schools) student "Teen of Impact". Please consider donating and sharing this information. Thank you!
Future4Females is a student-led initiative that focuses on advocating for women’s cardiovascular health through education, outreach, and action. I started this organization after learning how underrepresented women’s heart health is in both education and research, despite heart disease being the leading cause of death for women in the United States. Too often, women’s symptoms are dismissed, misunderstood, or diagnosed too late, and that gap starts early with a lack of awareness.
Through Future4Females, our goal is to address this problem at the community level. We plan to speak to local middle school students about women’s cardiovascular health, promote education, and raise funds to support research, advocacy, and access to care!
Because Future4Females is participating in the Teen of Impact challenge, we are currently focusing on raising money for the American Heart Association. This is a nationwide competition where students around the US fundraise to support public health education, training, and research; the organization that raises the most dollar amount gets named their city's "Teens of Impact"!

Introducing a new club at Collegiate, the Cozy Corner! Co-founded by Theofania Nacopoulos and Abigail Pribyshchuk, the Cozy Corner offers a safe and quiet space to unwind, do homework, study, and more! With four successful meetings so far, the Cozy Corner has been a great opportunity for building community with peers!
This club was created in order to improve mental health not just at Collegiate, but throughout the community as well. Through future fundraisers, the Cozy Corner aims to spread mental health awareness and help donate to mental health institutions around Erie in order to improve mental health community wide. In fact, they are holding their first fundraiser: a book drive!
Please bring in new or slightly used books to collection bins in Ms. Lumley’s room from 3/2 to 3/13! Please focus on children to young adult books, but ALL donations are appreciated and will be put to good use, benefiting those at the Mercy Center for Women! Please follow @npca_cozycorner for more updates!!

FOUND OBJECTS : Art Inspired by the Unexpected.
Collegiate Academy has 27 student artists participating in the exhibit!
Welcome to a celebration of creativity, resourcefulness, and the beauty of rediscovery. Presented by the Center for Lake Erie Education and Research (CLEER), this exhibition showcases the inspired works of art students from NWPA Collegiate Academy. By blending environmental consciousness with artistic expression, these young artists not only demonstrate their technical skills but also inspire conversations about sustainability, resourcefulness, and the beauty of reimagined materials. This collection truly highlights the transformative power of creativity as students repurpose found objects into compelling works of art, reflecting their unique perspectives and artistic visions.
As you explore the exhibit, consider the stories these objects might tell—where they’ve been, how they’ve been reimagined, and what they’ve become. Let this be a reminder that art isn’t just about creation; it’s about seeing possibilities where others see none.
We invite you to explore these remarkable pieces and support the continued growth of arts education in our region. Together, we can nurture creativity, innovation, and a strong sense of community through the power of art.
Please join us in celebrating our students' artistic achievement!
Where: Erie County Public Library, Blasco Memorial, CLEER - 160 East Front Street

Congratulations to Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy, which was awarded Gold on the 2025 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results and broadening participation for students.
Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their school’s college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
Collegiate Academy had 65% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 42% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 23% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams! Collegiate Academy offers 29 AP courses across all subjects, including English, math, science, social studies, art, and computer programming.
“We are continually working to improve the AP experience at Collegiate Academy and are proud of the hard work and determination put forth by our students and teachers. As our AP program grows, we have seen students explore new subjects and dive into content at the college level. The critical thinking skills developed in AP classes transfer to their other coursework and prepare them for future success. These accomplishments are a reflection of the individual perseverance of our students and the supportive learning environment we cultivate at Collegiate Academy.”
Jim Vieira, Dean

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 40 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond. Taking AP courses demonstrates to college admissions officers that students have sought the most challenging curriculum available to them, and research indicates that students who score a 3 or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
