Erie's Public Schools is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of students in the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) program at Collegiate Academy as part of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Art Contest.
Rory Gardner, a 12th-grade student in the VPA program at Collegiate Academy, has been named the 12th-grade winner and will receive a $500 award for her exceptional artwork. Bianca Flores, a 9th-grade student, has been selected as the 9th-grade winner and will receive a $200 award in recognition of her artistic talent and creativity.
An award ceremony honoring these students will be held on Tuesday, January 27th at 5:00 p.m. at the Youth Leadership Institute of Erie, 1306 E. Lake Road.
Congratulations, Rory and Bianca, for your artistic excellence and for powerfully reflecting the legacy and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through the visual arts. Your accomplishments highlight the strength of the Visual and Performing Arts program at Collegiate Academy and the District’s commitment to fostering creativity, expression, and student achievement in the arts.

HUGE congratulations to Erie High Royals varsity boys’ basketball Head Coach Shannon Pullium, who with a 69–47 win over Chapmanville Regional, surpassed Al Calabrese to claim the title of winningest boys basketball coach in Erie’s Public Schools history with 326 career victories.
Thank you, Coach, for your leadership, your steadfast dedication, your love for our district, and for serving as a role model for our stellar student athletes. We - and they - are lucky to have you!

This week is Safe Stop Week! You may see police vehicles following a school bus; they are ensuring the community is practicing safe driving around school buses.
Please remember to stop when buses have flashing red lights and stop arms extended. Also, slow down when near buses to watch for children.
