Congratulations to our February Tardy Table Troopers! This group definitely brought the fun in the mornings! They earned their hoodies today and are now attendance ambassadors. Look for a new group of friendly faces on Monday and check back to hear about our next attendance challenge (hint: March +🏀🏀🏀)

Congratulations to this lucky Panther family who won the Erie Otters tickets from the raffle at last night's Winterfest! Thank you to Erie Otters Hockey Club and United Way of Erie County Community Schools for donating the family prize package. Check back this weekend for pictures of all of the Winterfest fun!

We had a howling good time today with C Wolf and Ms. Laina! Thank you to the Erie SeaWolves for visiting Pfeiffer Burleigh. They shared the book "A Mascot's Tale: The Untold Story of C.Wolf". Their message included the 3 big ideas: Lift Others Up! Be You! and Find Your Talent! We accepted their challenge to read 6 or 7 books to earn a ticket to a Seawolves game this summer. Details will be coming home as part of Read Across America next week.⚾️📚📖🐾

We hope to see you all at Winterfest on Thursday!

PB has been celebrating through learning during Black History Month. We have been taking time to explore the Trailblazers and Changemakers in our related arts and social studies classes. For more pictures and information, visit the district website at eriesd./page/celebrating-black-history

Our new science curriculum is really stirring up some excitement at PB! Our Panthers love the hands on learning and chance to work with their friends. Here are some photos from Mrs. Boam's class working on their Windbreaker kit.

What a creative collaboration! During their latest science unit, Mrs. Ollmann's second grade interviewed students in Mrs. Grapes's Kindergarten class to find out what kind of toys they like. Then, using their new science skills, the second graders designed toys based on their partner's interests. They met back up with their partners and presented them with a toy they created just for them!

Fourth grade had a hoot playing Kahoot today! Families used math strategies to solve multiplication problems and battle for first place! Thank you to our schoolwides, Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Testrake, for planning the event, teachers for helping out, and of course to all of the family members who attended.

Check out Ms. Norman's class 's new Zen Garden! Students will have a chance to keep it at their desk to help promote mindfulness, focus, and creativity.

On Friday the Queens of Kindergarden held a royal ball to celebrate the end of their unit on kings and queens. They invited all of their friends for an afternoon full of feasting and dancing! A wonderful time was had throughout the land.

We had SNOW much fun celebrating attendance at our Winter Games! Students who were on time and present in January had a chance each day to be entered into a raffle to be chosen to participate in the games as everyone cheered them on! Thank you to our teachers for being such good sports and playing along, and to our game day crew volunteers from Erie Insurance for making sure everything ran smoothly. See the comments for which classrooms won the best attendance and most improved attendance awards for January and details of February's Pawsome Attendance Challenge!

Make sure you are present and on time tomorrow for our Winter Games All Star Attendance Assembly! Any guesses on who our mystery goalie will be?

Ahoy mateys! Mrs. Torres' class had a fun time activating their new sound /ar/ like a pirate!🦜🏴☠️

Join us on Thursday, February 26th from 4 - 5:30 pm for our Winter-Fest at Pfeiffer Burleigh.

The efforts and contributions of many African American educators and community leaders have helped Erie's Public Schools to become the district it is today. Thank you to all of the amazing individuals who help us continue #buildingexcellencetogether! We are especially grateful for our superintendent, Dr. Natalyn Gibbs, who is dedicated to bringing the community together and supporting our students and their families.
This month our students are learning about the important African American figures throughout history. You can stay up to date on what they are doing each week to celebrate Black History Month by visiting our website: https://www.eriesd.org/blackhistory.
