    Language Arts Honors (Grades 7 and 8)-Mr. Flaherty

     

    Language Arts Honors in Room 113 will focus on four main components: grammar, writing, reading, and vocabulary. Students will analyze reading selections from the Language of Literature textbook, an array of novels for both 7th and 8th grade, and an assortment of supplemental reading passages. Literary elements aligned with the Common Core Standards will be studied through fiction and nonfiction passages. Writing will be focused around the basics of grammar and the writing process and will be practiced through the LDC Writing Modules throughout the year. An intensive study of vocabulary will be presented to the students as well.
