• Meet Miss Domowicz

Miss Domowicz was born and raised in Erie County. She is the second of two children. Her family lived in Girard, Pennsylvania, where they were greatly involved in local history, and spent a large amount of time at Civil War Reenactments. Additionally, she volunteered at the Battles Museums of Rural Life as a living history interpreter (see picture). She attended public school with the Girard School District from kindergarten through her senior year. In addition to attending Girard High School, Miss Domowicz spent three years as a student at the Erie County Technical school, studying Culinary Arts. Despite this training, in April of her senior year, Miss Domowicz decided she would be better suited in a different career and applied to the education program at several state universities. It was a last minute decision that paid off!

In Fall 2003, Miss Domowicz began attending Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Secondary Education -- English and minoring in Art History. While at Edinboro, Miss Domowicz participated in a number of activities, including:  The EUP Karate Club, The Writing Center, SVVA, and Chimera Literary Journal. Additionally, she was invited to join the English Honors fraternity, Sigma Tau Delta. During this time, she also worked as an office clerk for the Dean of Education and Student Teaching Director, as well as being an Resident Assistant for two years. During her senior year, Miss Domowicz completed her Junior Field Assignment at Walnut Creek Middle School (7th Grade Language Arts) and Student Teaching at Strong Vincent High School (10th Grade English). In Spring 2007, she graduated from Edinboro, Summa Cum Laude, with a 3.76 GPA.

Immediately after graduating from college, Miss Domowicz was hired by the Erie School district and has worked there ever since. She has had the opportunity to work in several schools and every grade from seventh up. In addition to her work teaching, Miss Domowicz has also gone back to school to earn her Master's Degree in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

Currently, Miss Domowicz has three pampered cats:  Julio, Gryphon, and Dan. In her spare time she likes to play the guitar, make jewelry, and bake. She enjoys reading; her favorite authors are Edgar Allan Poe, George Orwell, Wilfred Owen, and Patricia Anthony. Additionally, she is a huge movie/TV and pop culture geek (LOTR Risk, anyone?), and loves surfing the interwebs for memes.
