Vocal/Choral
The Vocal/Choral Music classes offer students the opportunity to rehearse and perform a variety of musical literature that is educationally relevant and historically significant. The goal of vocal music classes is to develop sight singing skills, improvisation, principles of intonation, balance, harmony and dynamics along with lyrical understanding and communication.
The learning standards for this curriculum are based on the National Standards for Musical Education and allow students to have multiple opportunities to learn through a planned and sequential instructional program. The Vocal Music program is viewed as an integral part of a student's academic learning and is a valuable component of a well-rounded education.
The district utilizes the Sight Reading Factory curriculum and instruction resources for all choral classes.
