    Dear Diehl Families,

As we continue to face uncertainty, Diehl’s Community School is here to help.  If you should find yourself in need of help or connection to resources, call Karen Donnelly, our Community School Director at 814-874-6594.

Our health and hygiene pantry has become the Diehl Caring Pantry which offers non-perishable food items and limited clothing items, in addition to health & hygiene items.  To request resources from our NEW Caring Pantry, complete the online form by click here or call 814-874-6594.  We have many items available for the community. To stay current and to get important information, please follow our Facebook page: Diehl Elementary, a community school for updates and information.

Please call 2-1-1, United Way of Erie County's helpline if you are in need of information or referrals during this time. It is free and available 24/7/365 to all residents in Erie County, free and confidentially.

    We are in this together!

Diehl Elementary is a community school.

Our community school director is Ms. Karen Donnelly.

A community school is both a place and a set of partnerships that help address health, wellness and the social needs of its students, families and surrounding neighborhood. The community schools model is a strategy that organizes school and community resources around student success.

Diehl’s community school lead partner is the Mercyhurst University and we are fortunate to have eight corporate partners: Accudyn, American Tinning & Galvanizing, Custom Engineering, Lincoln Recycling, McInnes Rolled Rings, Reddog Industries, Smith Provision and Team Hardinger. The lead partner employs the community school director, which is made possible through Corporate Partner support.

The Lead Partner is a community-based organization that joins the school to manage and lead the work of developing and sustaining the community school model. This organization may provide some of the resources identified as high need at the school and works with the Community School Director to secure additional resources through other organizations.

The Corporate Partner commits to financial support and engages with the school through various opportunities, such as volunteering.  Last year, Diehl’s corporate partners demonstrated that they “have our backs” by buying sweatshirts for the entire school – students, teachers and staff!
