    Welcome Message:
Hi,  I hope you are all enjoying you time with your families!  I understand this might be a stressful time for everyone in the household.  Please contact me if I can help in any way.  You can email me at jburrows@eriesd.org.  I will try to update you often with any changes and also provide educational opportunities during this time.

    Update - March 21

A reminder to all our EPS families: please continue to follow all local, state and national guidance to contain the spread of COVID-19. That includes recommendations against sleepovers, play dates and group gatherings and activities. Practice personal hygiene, including proper hand washing technique, and social distancing.

    Update - March 20, 10 a.m.: ERIE'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS CLOSED

In compliance with Gov. Tom Wolf's order to close all non-life sustaining businesses, Erie's Public Schools is closed indefinitely. The only operation that will continue is the daily distribution of meals. Distribution of meals to all persons under age 18 will continue at all district elementary, middle and high schools, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. THAT SCHEDULE MAY CHANGE. Please stay connected to district communication channels for updates.

The distribution of technology devices scheduled for Monday, March 23, Tuesday, March 24, and Wednesday, March 25 is now canceled. The distribution of paper packets at all meal distribution sites is also suspended. (The packets are, however, available online at eriesd.org.)

Students can access educational opportunities online through teacher websites (primarily middle and high school) and via online platforms such as iReady, Amplify and Smart Futures (elementary students). All work is supplemental and will not be graded.

No decision has been made about the remainder of the academic year or when in-person classroom instruction will resume. Any information about the academic schedule will come from official district communication channels, including this Facebook page, the district website, and the One Call telephone system.

These uncertain times have required all of us to adapt as we continue our mission of serving our students and families. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please take this time to wash your child's bookbag, coat, or other personal items. I will be checking my email daily so PLEASE if you need anything let me know.

This page will be updated so students who choose to continue their learning at home will have the best possible information on what to do on what day.

Take some of this time to play outside and get fresh air! Open your windows and enjoy the extra time you now have with your children.

If ever you have any questions, please call the office to schedule an appointment or send me an email.

Thank you for supporting your child's education.

For community resourse questions please check out our councilor, Trent Bashline's Page.  https://www.eriesd.org/Page/18602   https://www.eriesd.org/Page/18372

School Closing: What you need to know

    • All students should be logging on to Amplify and iReady apps to continue their learning during this closure. All passwords were sent home Friday, March 13, 2020 with students who were present. Students who were absent can call the office to recieve their passwords or email me and I will get you the information. Ask your child first because most of them have memorized their log in information.

The CKLA and Ready Math lessons are posted for students to attempt to complete at home.

    •  I will monitor student progress on the apps and reassign any lessons that may need done again.

As the district puts together a more concrete plan over the coming days, I too will be able to share what is expected from the students. Please be patient as this transition will take time.

As a district we understand that this time is confusing and difficult and that students may think that no school work needs to be completed. Please do your best to continue learning at any pace you can.

      Thank You
