Welcome to Mrs. Smith's Website!
Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year! I am so excited to start our year together! We have missed you all! This year we will be using Schoology for virtual instruction. If you are using an iPad, provided by the Erie School District, you will have an app for Schoology. You shoulf log-in to Schoology and click on your regular teacher's homeroom page. From there you can access our daily Zoom meetings and view all grade level material posted. All iPads also have apps for both Amplify, our reading curriculum, and iReady, our math curriculum. Passwords for these 2 online programs were sent home and students are encouraged to log-in and complete lessons. You can also click on the links here to participate in both programs.
Amplify Reading Students can log-in with their unique username and password (sent home from their regular education teacher) to participate in this exciting supplemental reading curriculum. The games in Amplify Reading provide students with the opportunity to practice and build proficiency in early literacy skills within an engaging story that rewards students for their efforts. Please encourage your child to visit this website every day! https://reading.amplify.com/
i-Ready Math Students can log-in with their unique username and password (sent home from their regular education teacher) to participate in this engaging digital instruction. Math instruction on i-Ready is based on students’ individual Diagnostic results. The program meets students where they are and allows them to work independently on their personalized Online Instruction plans. i-Ready will evaluate skills that students need additional support on as well as provide challenge and enrichment for skills students have mastered. Learning games are available on this website to provided engaging mathematics practice that strengthens understanding of mathematical concepts. Please encourage your child to participate in this great math enrichment opportunity every day! https://login.i-ready.com/
In addition to the great resources provided above, I am also suggesting students read and listen to stories every day. If students do not have copies of books at home, one great source is https://www.storylineonline.net/. Storyline online is an award-winning children’s literacy program. The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations.
