Erie's Juneteenth Celebration & Booker T. Washington Center present the End of the Summer Back to School Jam on Sunday, August 23rd, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium!
This free event includes free CLEAR backpacks filled with school supplies, resource booths, free food, entertainment, a kids zone, and prizes/giveaways. Children must be present to receive a backpack.

If you have an incoming 7th- or 12th-grader who needs their state-required TDAP/MCV vaccines and you weren't able to join us on August 4th then join us today! Erie's Public Schools is partnering with LECOM Health Institute for Successful Living to offer these required vaccines today from 11 AM - 1 PM at Pfeifer-Burleigh Elementary School (235 East 11th St.). We're excited about the overwhelming response, and very much looking forward to seeing you! The full schedule of engagement sessions follows, but first, here's what you need to know:
* Each engagement session site is at capacity. For this reason, we are asking only one member of the family to attend.
* Doors will open one half-hour before the start of each session. Each session will begin with a presentation on both policies and end with clothing distribution.
* Each session is expected to last about 90 minutes. Please plan to arrive before the start and stay until the end.
* While registration for the sessions is now closed, we understand the need for wraparound supports continues and we are committed to helping families with those supports. Look for information about any new sessions here on our Facebook page, on our website, or via Parent Square.

🏈 This event includes a free official camp t-shirt, free food & drinks, a 1v1 cash prize competition, and the chance to learn from and be coached by Erie's top active women's flag football athletes. Due to overwhelming demand, many of our engagement sessions have reached full capacity. We're excited to announce an additional engagement session at Edison Elementary School, 1916 E 7th St., on Monday, August 10, at 5p.m. to accommodate new sign-ups! You can also continue to register for the engagement session on Friday, Aug. 7, at noon, at the John F. Kennedy Center. 📌 Please note: due to space constraints, only ONE guardian per household should attend any session.

Based on your input, we will hold open houses at all high schools and middle schools on Wednesday, Aug. 19, and at all elementary schools, Eagle's Nest, and the Patrick J. DiPaolo Student Success Center on Thursday, Aug. 20. Open houses on both nights will be held from 6-8 p.m.

🚨EPS Families: As you may be aware, EPS has implemented new policies for the 2026-27 school year. To help families be prepared, we will be hosting four (4) parent engagement sessions to provide information on the new electronic device policy and standard school attire policy. Each engagement session is the same, and each is open to all EPS families. Each engagement session will include a presentation on the new policies and an opportunity for parents to provide feedback and ask questions.
In addition, we will distribute clothing that conforms to the new standard school attire policy at each engagement session. The distribution is intended as a supplement to students' wardrobes, not a complete replacement, and is available only to students who attend Erie's Public Schools. Each EPS student will receive two (2) tops and one (1) pair of pants, while supplies last.
To help ensure that students receive clothing, families are encouraged to complete a sign-up form by Friday, July 24th, by visiting https://forms.gle/WkxvqfCb1jUt4vzNA.

The School Board has designated Friday, August 21, 2026, as Ainsworth Community Day!
Since opening in 1914, the field has served generations of student-athletes and hosted scholastic, amateur, community, and professional sporting events, becoming a treasured landmark within the City of Erie. Ainsworth Field remains home to student athletics and continues to serve as a gathering place that connects the history, traditions, and future aspirations of Erie's Public Schools and the broader community.
