“We Are More Than the Narrative: Layers, Lines, and Voices” was unveiled at Collegiate Academy on Thursday and ... WOW. The 8-foot by 20-foot mural showcases everything that makes our district great: creativity, collaboration and pride. Most importantly it challenges outdated and inaccurate narratives that persist by highlighting the many innovative, positive successes and celebrations happening in our schools every single day - and THAT is how you build excellence together. Thank you to our partners at Penn State Behrend for the financial support that helped make this possible and, of course, to our tremendous student artists whose work is brought together in this stunning piece!

The efforts and contributions of many African American educators and community leaders have helped Erie's Public Schools to become the district it is today. Thank you to all of the amazing individuals who help us continue #buildingexcellencetogether! We are especially grateful for our superintendent, Dr. Natalyn Gibbs, who is dedicated to bringing the community together and supporting our students and their families.
