Hello boys and girls!😎
I know that this is a hard time to deal with but I want you to know that I care about each of you and truly miss you! I hope that we will all be able to go back to school soon, but until then, PLEASE continue to login to your reading and math for 30 minutes each day! (click "Web Resources" to the left.) It is so important that you keep learning while we are out of school! I am checking online and can see who is logging in and I will give a "shout out" to those who are, right here on this website! So log in, learn, and look for your name below!
P.S. I have also listed other fun, free learning websites under Web Resources. Then, under Class Resources, you can find lessons from reading and math that mom or dad could help you with along with our new reader "The Green Fern Zoo" all about different animals. I think you will love it!

Mr.Bashline has some nice resources on his page about coping with stress during an outbreak, social distancing, talking to kids about COVID 19, and an activity site.
From Erie School District:
A reminder to all our EPS families: please continue to follow all local, state and national guidance to contain the spread of COVID-19. That includes recommendations against sleepovers, play dates and group gatherings and activities. Practice personal hygiene, including proper hand washing technique, and social distancing.
*First graders will be working on phonics and sight words in our language arts block. We will be applying these skills to our reading and writing.
*During math we will focus on identifying numbers to 100 and beyond, number sequence, place value, addition, subtraction, algebraic concepts, fractions and geometry.
*Our Science themes for first grade are Weather, Balance and Motion, and Organisms.
*We will have homework Monday through Thursday. Please check your child's folder each night to help them sort through their papers. Send your child to school with only their homework and any other important papers that may need to be signed leaving all other papers at home.
*We will also be focusing on being respectful, responsible and safe. Our most important rule is treat others as you want to be treated!
*Please try to read several times a week, if not daily, with your child at home. This has been shown to be a important indicator of a child's reading success!
