    Hello Perry Families,

My name is Andrea Gunns, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Perry Elementary School! I come to you with 35 years of experience working in education and 8 years as a school administrator, working with kindergarten-8th grade students. Most recently I served as the Principal at North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, in the School District of Lee County in Florida.

Also, Rick Gudowski will remain as Assistant Principal at Perry this year. Rick brings 27 years of experience in education and 14 years as a school administrator working with kindergarten-5th grade students. Rick brings a passion and commitment to the Perry Community and will continue to support every child so that they can reach their full potential.

Joining the Perry family is an honor and privilege, and I am committed to continuing the path to excellence. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each day while providing them with a positive and enriching learning environment. I am excited to get to know all of you and lead with integrity, kindness, and passion for helping all children reach success. I am committed to supporting every child to reach their fullest potential. I have many plans to address the needs of the whole child, including focusing on their individual social emotional learning (SEL). I look forward to designing supports to help each student grow and excel academically. Through the dedication of our staff, parent support, central office, and our community, our goals will be achieved.

As your new principal, I understand the importance of transparent and consistent communication. I want this year to be a positive and productive school year full of fun, enthusiasm, and learning.  We welcome parents to volunteer and will be providing you with information at the open house to find out how to volunteer. There are many ways to stay “in the know” for school updates and information. For the latest announcements please make sure you check the school website & Facebook Page on a regular basis.

It is important to me to greet everyone who enters the school with the utmost respect. I have an open-door policy and value every stakeholder’s opinion. Please feel free to contact me to discuss any concerns you may have or any points of pride you would like to share.

Once again, I am very excited to be the new principal at Perry Elementary and I look forward to getting to know every one of you this year!  Our theme is New Year…New Beginnings!

    Sincerely,

    Andrea Gunns
