    January 17th is a remote instruction day, please have your child complete the packet they have in their fish folder that I sent home on Tuesday.  It has all of the instructions of what to do :)  Your child will be counted as being "in attendance" only if their work packet is complete.  Thank you

    Welcome to 1st Grade!  It is going to be an amazing year to be a 1st grader at McKinley! I'm so looking forward to working with all of the Mariner students and families this school year!

    FACTS-FACTS-FACTS-FACTS-FACTS
    Our students in 1st grade will be learning their basic addition and subtraction facts .   Please do your child a huge favor and give them your time every day to practice.  The only way your child will learn these facts is with follow up practice at home to reinforce all the work we are doing with them in school.
     
     
     
    Reading ~ Reading ~ Reading ~ Reading 
     
    Parents, please make the time to read to your children.  Our kids grow up so very fast and soon you will miss being able to sit with them cuddled up next to you enjoying stories.  Plus, this can be such an awesome bonding time with your whole family!
    I will be sending home letter pages, tricky word pages, nonsense words, and fluency passages frequently along with take home pages from our reading skills activity book.  Please practice these sounds/words/reading stories with your children.  Later in the year, our spelling lists will start with our reading program.
