McKinley Oasis Garden

The courtyard at McKinley Elementary School has been transformed into an outdoor classroom with vegetables, herbs, flowers and picnic tables for adults and children. Third graders did the planting last fall, and the life skills students maintained the garden during the summer. Harvesting of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, Swiss chard, collard greens and herbs continues this fall until the gardens will be prepared for the long winter.
