    World History (9th Grade)

    We have been studying Chapter 12 the Industrial Revolution.  This is two weeks worth of work.  Week 1-  3/23/20 -3/27/20  AND Week 2 3/30/20 - 4/3/20. I will update with more work.  I will be checking my emails at least twice a day if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to submit any work for me to review, or any topics to discuss.  Especially with the CNN students news, have some fun with it.  Talk about some of the subjects that interest you with a friend, a parents/family member, or your teacher!

    Psychology (two Weeks of work)

    ASSIGNMENT 1 (3-23-2020 Through 3-27-2020)

    If you have netflix.  If you do not, do not worry you do not have to do the assignment! Watch the Documentary - Evil Genius.  This is the story of the famous "Pizza Bombing" in Erie Pa.  Watch this documentary.  

    1. Describe what happened in the Video. Write a short summary and discuss the events of the film/documentary.  (Remember when you are working on a summary to think about (Who, what, when, where, why, and how) I Believe you are all 17, but if you are not, you MUST recieve permission from a parent to watch this documentary! 

    2. Describe the Psychological Characteristics and problems the people who commit the crime have.  (FOR EXAMPLE: THIS IS NOT TRUE - but if it were write - Bill Rostein was a Schizophrenic. Margery Armstrong had ADHD.  Person X was addicted to Substance X)

    ASSIGNMENT 2 (3/30/2020 - 4/3/2020)

    A Psychological Profile - using the approaches of Psycholgoy to explain why a person is depressed. 

    Scenario - In Italy, where the Corona Virus is very bad.  Many people are sick and many have lost their lives. The whole country is in a lock down where you are not allowed to leave your house.  Francis Frenchyman is a 35 year old who lives alone in Paris, France.  He work as a waiter at a restaraunt and has not been able to work (or leave the house) in three weeks. 

    In his usual life, He plays in an adult soccer league for fun that he plays a game once a week.  He is also involved in a triva club that meets once a week.  As well as these activities he often hangs out with his friends as well as his large family (mother, father, 4 brothers, and two sisters) He does not have the Corona Virus, but he is very depressed.  Using the 6 approaches to Psychology, try to explain why he is depressed. You are able to be creative and add elements to his life that are not stated in the above information. 

    Here are the definitions of each approach. 

    Biopsychological - an approach that view behavior as strongly influenced by PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS (nerve cells, chemicals, muscles, etc.)

    Behavioral - an approach that views behavior as the product of learning and associations. 

    Humanistic - an approach that views people as generally good 

    psychoanalysis - an approach that views behavior as the product of unconscious forces.  EX: the way we think/feel is impacted by events in childhood. 

    sociocultural - an approach that views behavior as strongly influenced by the rules and expectations of specific social groups or cultures. 

    cognitive - an approach that emphasizes humans use critical thinking to analyze situations.
