High School Learning Support Curriculum
The science curriculum for students in High School learning support mirrors the High School Curriculum in that there are three years of instruction. Students complete one year in each of these areas: Earth, Life and Physical science.
Earth Science develops knowledge in three core disciplinary ideas in the Earth and Space Sciences including: Earth's Place in the Universe, Earth's Systems, and the Earth and Human Activity.Instruction for students in Life Science focuses on these six areas: The Basics of Life, The Variety of Life, The Plant Kingdom, The Animal Kingdom, Ecology and The Human Body.
Instruction for students in Physical Science focuses on these seven areas: Introduction to Matter; Types of Matter; The Behavior of Matter; Exploring the Periodic Table; Force, Motion and Energy; Waves, Sound and Light; and Electricity and Magnetism.
