Pursuant to Section 780 of the Public School Code of 1949, the Board of Directors of the School District of the City of Erie, PA and the Board of Directors of the City of Erie Regional Career and Technical School will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2017, in the Auditorium at East High School, 1001 Atkins Street, at 6:00 p.m. on the question of the permanent closing or alteration of any or all of the following schools:  Joanna Connell School, 1820 East 38th Street; Diehl School, 2327 Fairmont Parkway; Edison Elementary School, 1921 East Lake Road; Emerson-Gridley Elementary School, 816 Park Avenue North; Grover Cleveland Elementary School, 540 West 38th Street; Harding School, 820 Lincoln Avenue; Jefferson Elementary School, 230 East 38th Street; Lincoln Elementary School, 831 East 31st Street; McKinley Elementary School, 933 East 22nd Street; Wayne School, 650 East Avenue;  Perry Elementary School, 955 West 29th Street;  Pfeiffer-Burleigh School, 235 East 11th Street; Roosevelt Middle School, 3325 Cherry Street; Woodrow Wilson Middle School, 718 East 28th Street; Central Career & Technical High School, 3325 Cherry Street; City of Erie Regional Career and Technical School, 3325 Cherry Street;  East High School, 1001 Atkins Street; Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy, 2825 State Street; and/or Strong Vincent High School, 1330 West 8th Street.  No final decision on permanent school closure or alteration will be made until a June 22, 2017 meeting of the Board of School Directors. The public is invited to give comment on the question at the March 22, 2017 public hearing.
