Algebra I Part II Description
In Algebra I, Part II, instruction focuses on four main content areas: Graphing Two-Variable Linear Equations, Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities, Polynomials, and Data. Students will study models of constant rates of change, slope and its applications, as well as the forms of linear equations. Students will also write, solve, and interpret systems of linear equations and inequalities, and learn to solve systems of equations by graphing, substitution, and elimination. Students will learn to perform operations on polynomial expressions, find the Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Factor of monomials, factor algebraic expressions and simplify or reduce rational expressions. Finally, students will study a variety of data concepts including range, quartiles and inter-quartile range, make predictions using various data representations, analyze data and make predictions, and find probability of compound events.
