Erie High unveils application process for future students

Open house for prospective freshmen is Thursday. All students who apply will get in; district to use applications to determine demand for specific programs, classes.

Erie High School is emphasizing its range of programs as it holds its first-ever open house for prospective freshmen on Thursday.

All students who plan to attend Erie High must fill out an application — a process that is different from the one that was in place when the Erie School District had four high schools rather than two.

All the students who apply will be able to attend Erie High, officials said. They said the district will use the applications to determine what programs are in demand.

Applications are due Jan. 5. The district is to mail letters on Feb. 1 about the students’ courses for 2018-19.
